Understanding YouTube Monetization Signals

Our checker estimates monetization probability based on criteria modeled around the official YouTube Partner Program (YPP) requirements.

1. Subscriber Count (Thresholds)

Channels need at least 1,000 subscribers to be eligible for monetization under the main YPP requirements (or 500 for fan funding features). Less than 500 is scored as unlikely.

2. Upload Activity & Velocity

YouTube requires channels to remain active. Inactive channels that haven't uploaded in 6 months may lose monetization. We analyze recent upload dates within 30 days, 90 days, or 1 year.

3. Fan Funding (Memberships & Super Thanks)

If a channel has a "Join" button or displays "Super Thanks" buttons below their videos, they are definitely in the YouTube Partner Program. This is a very strong monetization signal.

4. Merchandise Shelves (Store Shelf)

Official store shelves displaying branded merchandise under the videos are only available to monetized channels with over 10,000 subscribers (or 1,000 for official partnerships).

5. Professional Branding

Channels with business contact emails, custom landing page links, and affiliate descriptions are highly likely to be commercialized creators who have enabled AdSense.

6. Recent Average Views

Ad revenue requires high view volumes. Creators with average video views exceeding 5,000 receive maximum signal weight for active monetization.

Important Disclaimers

This checker parses publicly available indicators, which are highly accurate but cannot guarantee monetization status. YouTube occasionally places ads on non-monetized channels, and some channels choose to disable fan funding even if they are monetized. Use these values as high-confidence estimates.
